Terms & Policies
At Outset Branding, we believe clear expectations create the foundation for a great partnership. The following terms and policies are designed to protect both you and us, ensuring every project runs smoothly, stays on track, and delivers the results you’re here for. By outlining how we work together from start to finish, we can focus less on logistics and more on building a brand you’re proud of.
1. Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is required to secure your project booking in our schedule. The remaining 50% is due upon completion, prior to the release of final files. For retainers, invoices are issued monthly in advance and must be paid before work begins for that month. All payments are processed in NZD. Late payments may incur a fee of 3% after 7 days.
2. Revisions
Every project includes two rounds of revisions per deliverable. This ensures you have space to refine and provide feedback while keeping the project efficient and on track. Additional revisions are charged at $60 per round, and must be agreed upon before work continues. Major changes outside the original scope will be considered a new project or add-on service.
3. Feedback Deadlines
To keep projects running smoothly, client feedback must be provided within three business days of receiving drafts. If feedback is delayed, project timelines and delivery dates may shift accordingly. Failure to provide timely feedback for more than 14 days may result in the project being paused or rescheduled.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information, timely responses, and all necessary brand assets (such as logos, images, or existing content) before or during the project. Feedback should be consolidated from all decision-makers before submission to avoid confusion and delays. Outset Branding is not responsible for delays caused by incomplete or missing client materials.
5. Intellectual Property
Upon receipt of full payment, ownership of the final approved deliverables transfers to the client. Outset Branding retains ownership of all preliminary drafts, concepts, and unused designs. We also reserve the right to showcase completed work in our portfolio, marketing materials, and case studies unless a written confidentiality agreement is in place.
6. Confidentiality
We take confidentiality very seriously. Any sensitive information, data, or documents shared with Outset Branding during the project will remain private and will not be shared with third parties without written consent, except as required by law.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
Deposits are non-refundable. If a project is cancelled after work has begun, the client will be invoiced for all work completed to date, including any hours worked beyond the deposit amount. Should Outset Branding need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, all unused deposits will be refunded in full.
8. Liability
Outset Branding is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of deliverables. It is the client’s responsibility to review and approve all work prior to publishing or distribution.
